Have you ever had a worrying feeling before going to a hair salon? Well, that is me every time I book an appointment to get my hair done. My last experience at a hair salon was 4 years ago and I made a vow to never go back again. I have always been creative with hair and when it comes to weaving, braids and even locks, but my natural hair has always been a struggle.
After months of my girlfriend raving about her experience at Her Definitions and their services, I decided that 2018 will be the year to try my luck again at a salon.
The Booking process:
I booked my appointment over the phone, which was very straightforward and simple. Someone picked up the phone within 3 rings and my appointment was booked with 4 minutes, an email confirmation and received a text 24 hours before my appointment – not a common practice so they already stood out.
Her Definition is located in Streatham high street, south-west London. As I am based in south-east London, it felt like it was going to be too far to be getting my hair done, but the drive was pretty straightforward and the salon is easy to find with lots of parking nearby.
The Experience
My first impression of the salon was white, bright and clean! I was welcomed straight away at the door by Prince, one of the experienced stylists and was offered a drink. I didn’t have to wait long for my services to start. I got a deep conditioning protein treatment with a trim, And I must say, MY GOD, I HAVE NOT SEEN MY HAIR LOOK SOOOO FLAWLESS IN YEARS. Prince did wonders and he made me feel so comfortable, talked me through the process and gave me some really good tips on how to maintain my natural hair.
I even got a chance to speak to Heather the founder and owner of Her Definition, an amazing young woman she is the definition of hard working. She gave me an insight into owning the store and how she manages it day to day, she even hinted future plans of other Her Definition opening in the near future.
Overall Hair Definition broke my vows of the never going to a salon again, I now book a regaler 6 weeks appointment to get my natural hair treated.
